October update!

Hey everyone! Cobwebs on this blog are more from neglect than Halloween decorations. It's been a good 4 months since I put up my first Etsy listing. Know why? My listings are expiring, AHHHHHH!

To any of my customers who are checking back: thanks so much for your support! You guys have collectively donated a textbook to a poor student (moi), so you should be really proud of yourselves =D

I've been extra busy with my studies, so I haven't had time to sit down and make some more button designs. But, I've been dying to put up some new stuff! I've got a lot of ideas written down that I'd like to start working on at the end of the semester.

Just wanted to let everyone know what I've been up to and that I'm nowhere near giving up on this shop. School has just kept me busy, but expect some good stuff soon!

Fridge magnets, yeahhhh

Today was reaaaaally windy but I still decided to brave the mighty gales and head down to the art store. I've been dying to make sets of fridge magnets to sell but there aren't any art stores that are conveniently close by. In any case, I bought a bunch of sheets of scrapbooking paper with really cool patterns, so expect a few more listings soon! One of the employees there also complimented me on the cat pins on my bag, which definitely made my day =)

Long time no see!

Oops, it's been a while since I've updated this blog =/. My button-related activities have been lacking a little lately because I've been romping around outside! I'm rocking out a nice farmer's tan and getting a lot of exercise and fresh air, so I think my disappearance from the blog is quite justified. I do want to show you some new pins, though =)

I'm participating in an ultimate frisbee tournament this weekend and I wanted to make some special pins for the event. For those unfamiliar with ultimate, there are no refs so the spirit of the game is really important. It's up to all the players to make any out of bounds/foul/etc. calls and if there's a dispute, the players on-field will settle it. Most importantly, playing with good spirit means having fun on the field and oftentimes the most spirited male and female on the team will play a fun game or get a prize. And thus, these little spirit babies were born:

Click the photos to get to my Etsy listing for these pins. They're just right for ultimate fans!

FIFA thoughts, Canada pins

The World Cup blew by incredibly quickly (ESPAƑAAAAAAA)! I've been pretty impressed by what I've seen so far when it comes to the plays, sportsmanship, and acting talent of all the teams. Still, I'm more impressed by Germany's fortune telling octopus.

Anyhow, I'm probably going to take down the FIFA magnet set soon and change it up for all-year use *cough*AxisPowerHetalia. Not sure how I can reuse a Honduras or Cameroon button though...I hope they'll still qualify for the World Cup next time =P

On another note, I kind of regret not making something for Canada Day, but I can make maple leaf pins all year round, so there's no worries =). Plus, I'm sure demand for them is decent since claiming to be Canadian (whether it holds true or not) while on vacation will most definitely make everything easier. Teehee.

FIFA pins are finished! All 32 countries are available as 1.0" buttons OR magnets. These should probably take around a week to ship if you're in Canada, so there's just enough time to get them.

I'm offering:
1) Magnet set of 32 (w/ FREE SHIPPING)
2) Individual Mix 'n' Match pins

I just added a few more listings to my shop!

- Supers Smash Bros. Characters (Mix 'n' Match)
- Cats for charity (Mix 'n' Match)

I'm planning to do something for the FIFA World Cup if I can finish before it's over =P (Go Spain!)

I'm officially open!

Woohoo! I just finished putting up my first listing (and a few more to boot). Currently only magnet sets are available but I'm looking to work out the Mix 'n' Match system I want to use for those looking to pick out individual pins to create their own order.

EDIT: Naruto and Bleach buttons are available in the Mix 'n' Match section =). I'll be adding Super Smash Bros. characters, too. Keep checking back!

Go on and take a look!

Anime North!

Anime North 2010! I'm not one for taking pictures, so you'll just have to use your imagination =P I saw some awesome cosplayers and talked to some very cool people. I had very groovy table neighbours and we danced and sang Backstreet Boys songs. And after seeing their art, I feel so motivated to finally draw again after having a huge art block thanks to school.

This was my 3rd year in a row selling buttons at AN and sales were quite good. I'm very pleased =). Seeing returning customers and hearing their positive comments is really encouraging. I just wish they'd tell me directly though =P. I don't bite! I also saw lots of new faces but I hope they'll be returning customers too =D!

I always sell these 2.25" cat buttons to fundraise for the local cat rescue that I adopted my own cat from and currently volunteer at - Forgotten Ones. Thanks to tons of generous people, I managed to raise over $600! Since we're a non-profit group, we are always in need of donations, be it money or items. Hop over to the Forgotten Ones website and find out how you can help.

Thanks so much to everybody who came out and bought something, or even those who just took a card. Thanks especially to those of you who donated to Forgotten Ones Cat Rescue. You guys supported cats in need of homes and a student in need of textbooks, it's truly appreciated =)

PS: Those cat buttons will also be for sale on my Etsy shop and still, all of the proceeds will be donated to Forgotten Ones.
